bernie's a great storyteller.
his recounting of meeting some legends,& the inner-workings of the music business, is fascinating.
the (exclusive to the audible version of the book) bonus chapter at the end of the bb king interview, was a welcome addition.

the most detailed book about altamont i know of.
the stones comes across as either disorganised ,& clueless about what was going on; not knowing what their manager was up to,& casting aside one of their inner-circle as a somewhat 'sacrificial lamb' .
overall, a balanced & objective book.

fyi, this isn't about his career with the rhcp.
(spoiler alert) it takes us up to just before they became rhcp.
a good story all the same.

l liked it.
john's easy-going style shines through in this audiobook.
his attempts at impersonating a different accent isn't great, but that doesn't take anything away from the great storytelling

just when I thought that the beatles story had been milked as much as possible, i was pleasantly surprised with this audiobook.
their non-beatles work is also featured.
the fact that it's being narrated by someone who was a friend of the band, but who was there when it was happening , makes it all the more enjoyable.
