This was a formulaic story with the male narrator throwing everything at it, in terms of energy (I.e. he becomes very loud a lot of the time but she is very robotic a lot of the time) to make it more interesting but it failed in my opinion. So much so I couldn’t finish it. But it may be someone else’s cup of tea.

Really enjoyed listening

I’ve just listened to this for the second time and still laughed out loud in places. Yes it’s whacky and odd but for me that’s the joy of this story. As you get further into it you can see why it’s whacky and odd but it makes sense. So if you like a hero and characters that are ‘characters’ rather than the run of the mill people with no individual personality you’ll really enjoy this one.

I’m afraid the odd narration style detracts

The story starts off well but due to the weird narration style I can’t listen past chapter one! The tone and accents used are fine but she starts off with long pauses between sentences or races breathlessly and not because of some action. I find it too distracting

Its ok

Very basic story of danger action and romance but I didn’t get any feeling of a connection of the two main characters and despite giving it three attempts I give gave up half way through.

Sorry but can’t finish it

The story sounds just my cup of tea but the narrators aren’t doing it for me. I guess that narration is very subjective - what one finds good the other may not, so it’s not a specific complaint about the narrators themselves. Also when you find narrators that really do it for you specifically i find it hard to listen to narration that hasn’t got that special quality that does it for me. I did listen to the example and didn’t think I would have a problem but there’s three narrators for this story and it only gave one example.
The storyline sounds perfect so much so I’m going to try to get it in ebook format.
Sorry but didn’t finish it in audible

Sadly I’m not going to finish listening

I’m half way through and I just have no interest in the characters or what will happen next. This is very pedestrian no ups or downs just sorry but boring. I’ve waited eagerly for this one because I wanted to know what happened after the end of the last one but it’s really not worth knowing. It may be that I’m all Susan Stoker’d out as I’ve read everything else by her. Am returning it and won’t be looking for anymore by this author

honestly the story is bare, basic plot, characters not well fleshed out but the narration has been fun and funny!! The enthusiasm that this man puts into this story narration deserves an award. Even giving the female lead a nasally whiney juvenile voice ( she’s supposed to 29) or that the male lead says things like ,good girl, (!!) didn’t stop me listening. Would have loved to be in the room when he was recording this because he sounded like he had so much fun. But I won’t be listening to any more books by this author. The basics were there but depth was missing and that was a shame.

This narrator tells the story with such a bored tone as though he’s reading with all the interest of a shopping list that has to be read to the end with as much speed as possible. Such a shame cos I think the story would have been entertaining but I kept losing interest.

So much fun to listen to

While I enjoyed the first one I enjoyed this one far more. I definitely laughed out loud on many occasions and chuckled a lot. Loved the slow easy way the relationship was built. So well written and expertly narrated. Thank you for an enjoyable 8 hours

Much darker than the others so far

This contains a lot of description of mental and physical torture. I’ve been enjoying the series so far but sadly this is just too detailed and find it too distressing to listen to the end and am returning it. I’m not going to listen the others
