Where does iJourneys Old Rome rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was quite a cheap audio book and compared to the more expensive books I found it to be better as its very easy to follow as you walk through Rome. The narration guiding you through the streets dose sound a bit amateurish in parts but the information was very interesting and informative. I only wished it was a bit longer.

What was one of the most memorable moments of iJourneys Old Rome?

Description of the area where the "ides of march" happened.

What about Elyse Weiner’s performance did you like?

She makes sure you are in the correct place by guiding you to landmarks before continuing with the tour.

Any additional comments?

Money well spent as I got a lot out of my trip to Rome with this guide.

No way

Would you ever listen to anything by Passport to European Travel Guides again?

Would have to listen to a sample - and definately read a review

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Naples & the Amalfi Coast?

All of it . The first 15 minutes of advice were on the lines of “You need a passport to visit Italy”, “Italian is the language of Italy”. The rest of the hour was spent of giving you phone numbers and address of Restaurants and hotels in the Amalfi region, with no real reason other than it had a good view or the food tastes good.

Any additional comments?

Absolutely no useful information describing the places to visit or transport links or any history.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It didn't really tell you about the place. It had more on what items you could buy there and how they are made. I was expecting a guide to the place - more description of places and streets and history of the place.

Would you ever listen to anything by Laura Morelli again?

Maybe

What did you like most about Learn Italian with Paul Noble: Complete Course: Italian Made Easy with Your Personal Language Coach?

Paul explained the language in a way I understood.

What other book might you compare Learn Italian with Paul Noble: Complete Course: Italian Made Easy with Your Personal Language Coach to, and why?

Other language books don't really review and test what you have learnt.

What does Paul Noble bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Paul has a calm voice , which makes listening easier.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

You can't listen to the whole course in one sitting. I would say every 30 minutes chunks a day.

Any additional comments?

Paul repeats and reviews the content during this course quite a number of times - which really cements the lessons.

The best way to learn Italian is by listening to short stories. The problem? You might feel like you don't know where to start. And that's exactly why we created this book. We know how difficult it may seem to learn a foreign language from scratch, let alone trying to put all that learning into practice. But what you might not realize is that it's fairly easy to fully incorporate the essentials of a language once you frame that learning in a certain context (for example, a short story).

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes time well spent listening to the information however it got to a point where the tour got irrating as the "City Speaker" jingle keeps poping up at far to many intervals.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Kate Gibbens?

Anyone who sounds less ditzy.

Did Rome inspire you to do anything?

Visit the Vatican city and Coliseum.

Any additional comments?

Could have been vastly improved if they edited out the "City Speaker" jingle which pops up too often.
