I'm an illusionist, not a psychic. Going on TV is supposed to advance my career, but things go wrong. Like vampires and zombies kind of wrong. My name is Sasha Urban, and this is how I learned what I am.

okay listen if you want a book that's easily put to one side. in some places it could have been exciting if the narration was a bit more enthusiastic. I have a feeling this is better read than listened to.
I may by the second book and read it. I won't be buying the audiobook .

enjoyed this a none horrific but interesting take on a ghost story. reminiscent of Jodi Taylor st marys series.
pleased I found it.
I needed to speed the narration up very slightly but otherwise a good start to a series.
I would recommend it and intend to get the next in series.

I listened until the detailed description of sexual encounter and I thought "Where is the story?" I know its a part of a series but this long detailed sexual encounter had no reason it doesn't add anything.
What took pages could have been written so much quicker ie they missed each other, ..... later sweaty, rumpled. happy he says she says the story moves along.
Example see Faith Hunters Jane Yellowrock series where sex is pacy slightly descriptive and moves the story along.
John Conroes Demon Accords series here sex is suggested at sometimes with fun and gentle humour it's appropriate , left entirely to the imagination of the reader and again moves the story along.
This writer just leaves me feeling a bit queasy and voyeuristic (not nice) I'm no prude but this is just page filling at its worst.

struggled to finish
the sex has no relevance to the story and verges on print. it slows the story down to a crawl it's u necessary.
for example john conroe writes a good read his characters have a close and passionate relationship without the need of them describing in minutiae the exact anatomical details of the sex act.
it's going back as I'll never listen to it again
only wish I'd remembered how bad the previous books were for exactly the same reason. oh I'm no pude but sex in a story that has no point is just tacky.

From the east came the Bone Giants. From the south, the fire-wielding Hathrim. It was an invasion that sparked war across the six nations of Teldwen. Now the kingdom's only hope is the discovery of a new form of magic - one that will call the wondrous beasts of the world to fight by the side of humankind. In the start of a thrilling new series, the New York Times best-selling author of The Iron Druid Chronicles creates an unforgettable fantasy world of warring giants and elemental magic.

I'm going to buy it in kindle form at least my imagination will give it some oomph.

I'm furious as once again a purchased book does not turn up either in my library nor on the cloud drive. Cross I could spit feathers (I enjoy Mr Conroe work but) I'm continually frustrated by Amazon's inability to sort out a glitch where my books either aren't in the cloud or library to download or I have to spend time returning and purchasing them again and again until I get a copy that will open. Frankly I'm very annoyed. Sort the problem out Amazon.
Mr Conroe I have already read this book a delight as usual and I fully understand Amazon's ineptitude isn't your fault.
