Every day we make choices. Coke or Pepsi? Save or spend? Stay or go? Whether mundane or life-altering, these choices define us and shape our lives. Sheena Iyengar asks the difficult questions about how and why we choose: Is the desire for choice innate or bound by culture? Why do we sometimes choose against our best interests? How much control do we really have over what we choose?

The author reveals many interesting truths about choices that we do/don't make and elaborates on situations where we might be better off/happier not making certain choices ourself, even if we think otherwise.
I was hoping to find a book that might help with my lack of self-discipline. Alas, this is not that book.
Nevertheless i am happy to have listened to it.
A great narrator and a great book indeed.

When you love someone, how does it feel? And when you desire someone, how is it different? In Mating in Captivity, Esther Perel looks at the story of sex in committed couples. Modern romance promises it all - a lifetime of togetherness, intimacy and erotic desire. In reality, it's hard to want what you already have. Our quest for secure love conflicts with our pursuit of passion. And often, the very thing that got us to into our relationships - lust - is the one thing that goes missing from them.

how refreshing to hear a narration by a human rather than the go-to male "broadcasting" voices of many authors. It took a bit to get used to it, but once you pass that hurdle the book becomes a lot more personal and you appreciate the author's mission more. She relates many situations she's had to overcome with her therapy clients and I think it's safe to say that there should be something in this book that every couple can relate to and learn from
higly recommended.

Her successful parenting approach harnesses the power of this basic fact: Your baby is unique and will grow in confidence if allowed to develop at his or her own pace. The key to successful parenting is learning to observe your child and to trust him or her to be an initiator, an explorer, a self-learner with an individual style of problem solving and mastery.

You'll be surprised at how dated your parenring beliefs and behaviours are.

Sentences are said in English and followed by the Greek. The Greek is said twice, both times at full speed by a native speaker.
Individual words aren't translated so you don't actually know what you're saying.
This is definitely not an audio "course". Just a bunch of English sentences translated to Greek.

Happiness can be achieved through training the mind...Generally speaking, one begins by identifying those factors which lead to happiness and those factors which lead to suffering. Having done this, one then sets about gradually eliminating those factors which lead to suffering and cultivating those which lead to happiness.

Completely un-engaging and hardly an introduction to a language. It is definitely not to be thought of as a language course.
Words are simply said in English, translated to Greekand then a sentence is said in Greek.

Of course I appreciate that effort was spent making this, but I rather wish I saved my money and time an avoided this completely.

I'm halfway through, and finishing this is going to be like finishing that unsatisfactory meal you might have just bought. You know the feeling ...

A classic Dickens Christmas story full of love, loss, regret, and reuniting. After a Christmas Eve feast, the narrator tells a story about Richard Doubledick, saved by an officer friend , who became his friend for life until his death at Waterloo. Richard later met the French officer who killed his friend and used forgiveness to get over it, which lead to them and their children becoming lifelong friends. I will however, endeavour to find this book narrated by someone else.
