Got this from the glowing reviews, but oh dear... I couldn't get past one quarter of it before I got my credit back. The sample is the best bit, the story has promise but the narrator reads like his audience are 6 year olds, but with profanity thrown in.

Lee Child's Jack Reacher: a guaranteed ripping yarn, so much so that I always drop a credit on pre-ordering the next story. This one, BLUE MOON, put lots of smiles on my face. Sure, there's a high body count, but hey.. they are bad guys. With Jeff Harding on vocal duties, this partnership is as good as Will Patten reading James Lee Burke. Brilliant. Can't wait for the next..

After a slow 2nd chapter rambling on about the US Constitution for what seemed like half an hour or more, the fun picks back up like in the sample. (I was almost at the point of returning the book as it was boring me, but the classroom stuff early on doesn't last forever).

Glad I stuck with it, it has some nice plot twists and great characters, and Mr. Harding is always good to listen to.

I'll get more in this series.

I'm used to Mr Harding as Jack Reacher, but being a quality narrator, he easily becomes other characters. The story takes a while to reveal just "why?".., but it is a very satisfying story. Recommended.

Great story, great writing, great characters, great naration. I already enjoyed Mr. Hurwitz's Orphan X series, and on the strength of this book it is clear I will have to plunder his back catalogue.

A really good story, an underdog, an impossible case, dark forces conspiring.., this is a great read. The type of story where you want the narrator to read quicker, but at the same time you don't want it to be over too quickly. Great characters, too. I'll be getting the others in the Eddie Flynn series.

Nice to find a hero that isn't just another detective sergeant / private eye or professional assassin. The plot is good and twisty, not at all without its curve balls, and it's clear the author spent some time thinking this one out. I immediately got book 2 in the series, even though I downgraded this one from 5 stars to 4 for him banging on about his daughter so much (although it wasn't really thaaat much..)

Having enjoyed Lang's reading of Heart Shaped Box, Mulgrew's NOS4A2, and Wheaton's Ready player One, I was already onboard with the narrators and Mr. Hill's prose, so this was a great change to the 10-14hr stories I had been digesting recently. A good choice this collection of 4 short stories. Recommended.
