I'm used to Mr Harding as Jack Reacher, but being a quality narrator, he easily becomes other characters. The story takes a while to reveal just "why?".., but it is a very satisfying story. Recommended.

A really good story, an underdog, an impossible case, dark forces conspiring.., this is a great read. The type of story where you want the narrator to read quicker, but at the same time you don't want it to be over too quickly. Great characters, too. I'll be getting the others in the Eddie Flynn series.

The truth has no place in a courtroom. The truth doesn't matter in a trial. The only thing that matters is what the prosecution can prove. Eddie Flynn used to be a con artist. Then he became a lawyer. Turned out the two weren't that different. It's been more than a year since Eddie vowed never to set foot in a courtroom again. But now he doesn't have a choice. Olek Volchek, the infamous head of the Russian mafia in New York, has strapped a bomb to Eddie's back and kidnapped his ten-year-old daughter, Amy.

Nice to find a hero that isn't just another detective sergeant / private eye or professional assassin. The plot is good and twisty, not at all without its curve balls, and it's clear the author spent some time thinking this one out. I immediately got book 2 in the series, even though I downgraded this one from 5 stars to 4 for him banging on about his daughter so much (although it wasn't really thaaat much..)

Four short novels from the author of The Fireman and Horns. 'Rain' explores an escalating apocalyptic event, as downpours of nails spread out across the world. In 'Loaded', a mall security guard heroically stops a mass shooting, but his story begins to unravel, taking his sanity with it. 'Snapshot, 1988' tells of a kid in Silicon Valley who finds himself threatened. And in 'Aloft', a young man parachutes for the first time...and winds up a castaway on an impossibly solid cloud.

Great story, great characters, great narration.

Will Patton does another superb job here (he narrated Mr. King's excellent Bill Hodges trilogy: Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, End Of Watch), he brings life to the already realistic characters.

The story starts normal enough, then gets, you know, Stephen King-ey. If you like a pinch of sci-fi wierd, this is a must.

Not that I realised it beforehand, but the narrator Christopher Lane also did Dean Koonts' excellent Lightening.

The premise, didn't sound great, a broken TimeGlider, a naked virtual woman, an interrupted suicide... but I love time travel stories so gave it a go.

I loved it, it was an absolutely wonderful story. The last book I gave 5 stars to was Andy Weir's The Martian. I hope it won't be, but this could be the best book I hear all year.
