All Rath wants is a quiet, peaceful life. Unfortunately, his father brings him too much trouble - and too many debts to pay - for that to ever be possible. When the local crime lord drags Rath out of bed and tells him he has three days to pay his father's latest debt, Rath doesn't know what to do. There's no way to come up with so much money in so little time. Then a friend poses an idea just ridiculous enough to work: enter the Tournament of Losers, where every 75 years, peasants compete for the chance to marry into the noble and royal houses.

William Drake’s living an ordinary life - he has a job, a dog, and a house near Lake Superior - when a frantic call for help from his ne'er-do-well sister, Katrina, throws a big rancher-shaped kink in the works. Proving that no good deed goes unpunished, Will’s arrival at the Montana ranch belonging to Katrina's fiancé, Martin, is marked by a flat tire and unexpected help from a tall, dark, and handsome Good Samaritan. The stranger turns out to be Elijah Hunter, Martin's brother - the most unsettling man Will has ever met.

The only thing Jade Blevins has ever been good at is hustling the pool tables. He never thought it would change his life, until he wins a tiny little bottle in a local bar, along with the ancient Thessalian warrior inside. The attraction is instant, and Jade quickly finds himself falling in love with the sinfully gorgeous Greek. Archias of Thessaly has spent three millennia imprisoned inside the glass urn. Once a great Myrmidon soldier under the command of Achilles, he is now little more than a glorified genie.
