A great continuation of the adventures of Kvoth. This second installment takes us out of the university and introduces a host of new characters, locations and cultures, each as richly developed as the previous book. Superb narration by Rupert Degas makes it easy to follow who is speaking, allowing you to get lost in the story.

Very good listen. Evocative, thought-provoking takes on traditional fairy stories. Well performed by both narrators. Puss in Boots and Werewolves are my personal favourites.

One of those rare books that kept me hooked throughout. Both characters and story were in turns interesting, exciting, funny, sad, frustrating, enigmatic and so many more adjectives. All brought together by absolutely first rate narration.

The Name of the Wind has reignited my love of epic fantasy.

Good story, well performed. Nice gentle, easy listen for adults despite being a title feared towards younger listeners. I'll probably listen again.

Loved this collection just as much as the previous one. Exciting, thought-provoking, funny stories, good overall story arc and superb performance.

I have played nearly all the Witcher video games and the stories have given the familiar characters and quests much more depth.

This one is staying in my collection.

Another classic ticked off the list. Not a book I could have gotten through had I read it and not one I'll listen to again but I did enjoy it. The story is very inventive and the language and style are entertaining.

David Hyde Pierce did a great job narrating.

Well written, well performed (although some of the American accents were a bit harsh on the ears) and a thought-provoking idea. Whether or not you agree with the author's vision by the end it's a very good listen.

I thought the storyline was good but the darkness and the atmosphere just never quite got there for me. It wasn't badly written or badly performed, it just didn't grab my attention, hence the comparatively lower overall score.

I think it was just a bit too subtle for my taste.
