Each chapter is an in-depth profile of an actual Sandler client. As each case study proves, the guiding principle for creating a breakthrough is deceptively simple-sounding: Be candid with yourself. Succeed the Sandler Way takes 14 real people’s stories of how they have tackled limiting beliefs, fear, personal adversity and made a success of their sales, their business and their personal lives.

Sandler is a human communications model. It can be applied to sales, management, leadership, culture, marriages and parenting with equal success.

It encourages you to be authentic, to be yourself, to quiet the voices in your head that tell you why you can’t, that encourage you to self sabotage, to be less than you can be.

A must read for business leaders, owners, managers and salespeople

The definitive playbook for effective sales coaching, based on the proven principles of the Sandler Selling System. There is no one-size-fits-all sales coaching model. There are only approaches that have been shown to be successful in particular situations. Acting as coach, the manager must identify each individual salesperson's personal "success code" and use that code to unlock the salesperson's potential for success. It is always up to the coach to choose the right approach for the salesperson and the situation.

Dee Brown's eloquent, meticulously documented account of the systematic destruction of the American Indian during the second half of the 19th century uses council records, autobiographies, and firsthand descriptions. Brown allows great chiefs and warriors of the Dakota, Ute, Sioux, Cheyenne, and other tribes to tell us in their own words of the battles, massacres, and broken treaties that finally left them demoralized and defeated.

Possibly the saddest history I’ve ever read. Shockingly frank, it tells the story of a noble people, outgunned, overwhelmed and mistreated. The settlers rapacious greed and sense of entitlement is ugly beyond belief. The government and their agents behaved despicably. The Native Americans innocence, trusting nature and ability to forgive shames so called Christian invaders

A pitiful tale, painful to hear but an important work that is well worth reading. Highly recommended

The previous edition of this now-classic book revealed the existence and subversive manipulations of "economic hit men". John Perkins wrote that economic hit men (EHM) "are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. Their tools include fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder".

This book's contents are obscene, depressing and breathtakingly disappointing because we all know what's going on and let it. Perkins writes with a tone of self-flagellation but if you can make it past that, his message is very important.

If you don't yet understand globalisation and the implications of lobbying, overseas aid, NGOs and tax breaks for corporations and the super rich, you will. And you probably won't like it.
