Actually Enjoyed It

4 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 20-07-12

I wasn't going to bother reading this (and I haven't strictly read it, I got it in audio from here) as I usually find that the sort of hype that the media make of something like this is normally an anti-climax. But as I had some spare credits on my Audible account I decided to get it in audio book form. I actually quite enjoyed the story line and the sex scenes were not as bad as everybody makes out. Detailed, yes, but pornographic? Oh come on!

Some reviewers did not like the narrator's voice/accent but to be honest I found it vary good indeed. The character comes from New York/Washington? that region anyway and the narrator had the accent for that area. I found that her accent complemented the character vary well and I had no proplem with it at all. I am not sure I will bother with the other two in this trilogy but this book was pretty good.

Great Book But Annoying Over Use of The Word "said

4 out of 5 stars

Like a previous reviewer stated this author really needs to learn another word for "said"; Yes, almost every line contains "...said" or "said...", it really does get annoying and you can almost hear the annoyance in the voice of the narrator.

The storyline is pretty good and I did enjoy it; a subtle, or perhaps not so subtle, parody of Star Trek which mocks the fact that in almost every Star Trek episode you knew who was going to die as soon as the "away party" beamed down; those poor guys in red.

Great book but Jack's voice could have been better

Fantastic book. Very gripping story-line with some real tear-jerker moments.

The only thing I didn't like about this audio version is the voice of the child. It sounded like an adult woman pretending to be a 5-year-old boy. I realize they probably couldn't get a real 5-year-old boy to narrate it but surely they could have got an older boy to narrate, rather than a woman.

Tarnsman of Gor - Cor Chronicles vol. 1

5 out of 5 stars

I am a big fan of the Gor series of books and was absolutely delighted when I found that Audible had released the first of the series. The narrator reads the book very well and clearly. I would recommend it to any fan of the Gor series. I have also noticed that vol. 2 (Outlaw of Gor) has also been released on here.
