While Billy is obviously mentally distressed and cannot remember many concrete details, there is something sincere about him and his story. But before Strike can question him further, Billy bolts from his office in a panic.

This series is great. Love the characters although I do want to give Robin a talking to sometimes! Good plots and really well narrated.

This was a good book if bounty hunters are your thing as it had all the right ingredients. The only thing that started to grate half way through was the staccato nature of the text when things were being emphasised or got tense. It seemed to happen a lot and broke the flow IMO. That aside I enjoyed it.

Showgirls. Millionaires. Murder. Jack Morgan, head of Private Investigations, the global PI agency of the rich and famous, is being pushed to the limit. His car has been firebombed, his ex is dating someone else, and his twin brother is still out to destroy him. But Private doesn’t rest, and nor do its clients: not the LAPD who need Private’s help catching two scumbags with diplomatic immunity, and not the client who has just confessed to murdering his wife.

I've listened to a few in the series and really enjoyed them. They've been entertaining with a clear storyline and nice supporting sub plots. However I found this one quite disjointed and didn't get absorbed in the story like I usually do. I found myself re listening to bits as I thought I'd missed a part of the plot but hadn't. I persevered but it felt like a filler rather than a story in its own right.

All the books have a common theme but are also very different which gives you a sense of familiarity and keeps the interest. The characters are well written and enjoyable, even the evil ones!

Enjoyed the east/west Germany element, being old enough to remember it, just.

Easy to listen to as the narrator was clear and each character was identifiable.

No.1 bestselling author Patricia Cornwell delivers the next enthralling thriller in her high-stakes series starring Kay Scarpetta - a complex tale involving a serial sniper who strikes chillingly close to the forensic sleuth herself. It's Chief Medical Examiner Dr Kay Scarpetta's birthday, and while she's enjoying a leisurely morning, a man is shot dead five minutes from her house. The bullet tore through him as he unloaded groceries from his car. Yet nobody heard or saw a thing.

This story was good like most of Patricia Cornwell's stories. The characters are like comfy slippers that just feel right when you put them back on. Good storyline really well read by a easy to listen to narrator. However the finish felt separate from the rest of the story almost like it could have come anywhere in the story. Still very enjoyable.
