I’ve rarely come across a Black Library story that really made me laugh out loud (sorry, Lukas), but the narrator’s wry delivery was spot on. It’s nice to hear a story from the self-serving point of view of a mere mortal.
Cain’s inner desire is, basically, to stay alive, which contrasts with the actual fact that, to do so, he rises to be the hero he thinks he’s faking.

Narration is clear and easy to follow. However, the inclusion of a rate-yourself quiz is silly as there is no way to use it. This is a feature of a lot of audiobooks as the producers seem to think they have to present the original text even when it won't patently work.
A good, quick listen.
