Fantastic! What a wonderful imagination and style of writing this author has. I was mesmerised and transported to virtual reality so many times - I did not want this book to finish! David Thorpe,s narration excelled itself adding to the thorough pleasure of this book - I would submit just one negative, it was rather long, shortened a little would have been better with the possibility of a second book?

Having read the first two books of this trilogy, I was hoping the last one would be enthralling as the first two. I was not disappointed - it was thrilling, adventurous, exciting - moving me to tears of sadness and joy. What a wonderful writer this author is and my goodness the narrator was fantastic and could not be faulted. I have returned to my own world now but will miss the excitement of the world I was immersed in. Loved it!!

At first sight, it appears like a straightforward case of suicide; María had never recovered from the death of her mother two years previously and she had a history of depression. But then the friend who found her body approaches Detective Erlendur with a tape of a séance that María attended before her death and his curiosity is aroused.
