A great story for people who like tangible character progression. The readouts of the in-game prompts can get a bit long though. I'd have liked to see a different adaptation of that aspect for audiobook. I really liked the sound effects for the notifications however.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new perspective. Dara is a great character and her origin story is thrilling.

Flinty did a fantastic job narrating! I really enjoyed the emotion she brings to the performance. Now, after listening to so many books from the main series, I did find certain characters' voices jarring. Fortunately this didn't impact my enjoyment.

I can't wait for the next one!

I really like the characters for this series and they go through a LOT of development in this one, but I had to dock a star because of the bloody horn sound affects that break the immersion. I don't know when they choose to put them in, but occasionally I've noticed them within a single conversation. maybe the was a perspective change or something, I don't remember, but they snap me right out of it.

in this day and age, you should be able to tag sounds like that and optionally disable them from the app.

This is a great addition to an already fantastic series. It is not a combination of the other books but it is well worth a read.

This book was great, the story developed significantly and plenty happens. You also get to know some of the characters a little better, as should be expected really.

The performance, as always, was fantastic!

I cannot offer enough praise to this book. The plot changes course rapidly and without warning, the writing is incredible world beautiful my crafted.

The performance was great for the male characters and to be fair the female voices were good too, but unfortunately when one spoke after the other, lines start to blur a little. The accents were superb mind you.

So... I might have listened to shadows before sunset and well, I wish that the story would just go on forever. I loved the characters, the plot, the details and even the confusingly brief nods to things that later led me to google the series to find out if there was a prequel.

The thing I love more than anything though, was the beautiful way in which you meld science and magic. The idea of a wizard dissembling a spell as if it were code in order to hack together some quick and dirty solution, only to later refine with the help of more technical mages is simply brilliant. I love your book and I'm about to go through Sunset now.

I do hope that when the next instalment is ready, that you get it to the ever talented Sean Runette post haste, for his performance was simply stunning.
