I have been a channel for healing for many years. I have read many books on the subject of healing with the belief that you can always learn and always improve your knowledge.
I regret to say that I have found this book extremely disappointing. The reason for that is because it is only in the last chapter that technique and methods are discussed. Nearly all the book is anecdotal. Interesting to some but not of practical use.

Kabbalah, Science, and the Meaning of Life traces the milestones of the evolution of science with which we are familiar, such as Newton's and Einstein's theories, but goes further to present the science of Kabbalah as the basis for understanding the hidden parts of reality that scientists are now discovering. While other sciences research the definable world around us, Kabbalah teaches us how the spontaneous changes occurring within us affect our surrounding reality.

I did not understand the path of Kabbalah before I listened to this book. At the end of the book I am sorry to say that I still don't understand Kabbalah. It says refer to figure number ? There are none in a audible book. Technical terms, specialised words, their meaning is often vague or unclear. This is a book for someone who is already acquainted with Kabbalah.

I bought this book because I had listened to the Wisdom Jesus and I really enjoyed that one.
The wisdom way of knowing I thought was a bit disappointing. Maybe it's me but I thought this book promised more than it delivered.
I was hoping to find and hear a practise that would lead me further on the path of wisdom. I didn't find that. I found the book interesting but it fell short I thought on wisdom insight. I was a bit disappointed.

If you put aside what you think you know about Jesus and approach the Gospels as though for the first time, something remarkable happens: Jesus emerges as a teacher of the transformation of consciousness. Cynthia Bourgeault is a masterful guide to Jesus' vision and to the traditional contemplative practices you can use to experience the heart of his teachings for yourself.

If you are a regular church attendee and are happy with the order of service in your church then perhaps this book is not for you.
If however you are looking for a deeper meaning to Christian worship a more profound meaning to the teaching of the gospel then this book is perhaps what you have been looking for.
The author challenges long held and sometimes ignorant beliefs with a new perspective on the Christian message. She says our great mistake is looking at Christ and his life with 20/20 hindsight and thinking that because we were brought up in the Christian tradition we know everything there is to know.
If this is you then think again and listen to this profound and interesting book. You will not be disappointed.

Francis of Assisi is one of the most beloved of all saints. Both traditional and entirely revolutionary, he was a paradox. He was at once down-to-earth and reaching toward heaven, grounded in the rich history of the Church while moving toward a new understanding of the world beyond. Franciscan Father Richard Rohr helps us look beyond the birdbath image of the saint to remind us of the long tradition founded on Francis' revolutionary, radical, and life-changing embrace of the teachings of Jesus.

Listeners to this book should be aware that if you take notice, meditate and practise what the author tells us of St. Francis, it could seriously change your life.
It is sometimes necessary to re-wind and re-listen to parts of this book to fully understand some of the ideas put forward. I found that I had to do this but it was well worth the time spent in doing so. You on the other hand may be a lot brighter than me.
Please listen to this book if you are genuinely interested in Spirituality. It can do nothing except benefit you and hopefully bring you peace and some joy.

I really enjoyed this book. I found that the author gives really practical advice on how to improve your prayer life. This book is not about Mystics or Mysticism it is about the ordinary person wanting to improve his/her prayer life to become as close to God as possible in an ordinary lay persons life
