The staccato type delivery of this book made it most unpleasant and I found myself irritated by this. So much so it was making nonsense ofv the narrative. it was intrusive on the sense of the storey. gave up half way through.

Did not like narrator's voice.

Not at all what I expected. Would have liked a narrator with more gravitas and no American voices.

As with all of the previous Cherringham books a plot with twists and turns peppered with good old characters in a charming setting. What more can you ask for?

An Agatha Christy story ruined.

This book was ruined for me by the choice of a narrator with an American accent. it completely spoiled the ambience of what should have been a quintessential English narrative.

The storyline was obvious once the handsome lead appeared and the dialogue tedious and sickly sweet.

As ususal Melissa Craig mystery did not disappoint. Well done Betty Rowlands and thank you for an excellent storyline, well drawn characters and first class performance by Joan Walker. A crime novel to snuggle up with in front of the fire.

Thoroughly good book.

I love all of the Melissa Craig books and whilst waiting for the latest book thought I'd try one of the Suki Series about a female police constable. I found very little to warm me to the character who had no real substance and the narrative seemed mostly about her sargent Vicki. I found the storey was tedious with no suspense or syrprise elementsl. Even the other players in the book were just names and summoned no real characters to mind. Very disappointed and so unlike the Melissa Craig series.
