Gene Wentz's Men in Green Faces is the classic novel of Vietnam that inspired a generation of SEALs. Here is the story of a good soldier trained to be part of an elite team of warriors - and of the killing grounds where he was forever changed. Gene Michaels carries an M-60, 800 rounds, and a Bible. The ultimate SEAL, he also carries a murderous grudge against a bloodthirsty colonel who was once one of their own.

Ok so listening to the intro this book had so much potential in store yet I found this a very disappointing book. I found myself lost between scenes and unfortunately quite detached for the main character. So I generally found it hard to stick with. The overall setting and its missions were good however also were the descriptions of the weapons used that why ive given the performance a higher score.

In Paris, an elderly man is assassinated as he takes his morning walk. In the war-torn cities of Syria, government forces wage a bloody war against their own people. The Russians are propping up the government, the French are backing one rebel fraction and the British are backing another. And in north Africa, young SAS trooper Jamie Truman is coming to the end of a gruelling tour of duty, or so he thinks. Jamie has a new mission.

A good story and plot. The war crimes and choice of victims are quite disturbing and I'm sure the aim of it is to be a lot more shocking then the usual bullet to the brain descriptions you typically find. All in all it was good.

Enough twists and turns to keep the suspense going.
I really enjoyed this book it has a great plot and nice balance of action vs politics and scene setting.....as a listener, time well spent.

(Only as a desirability) I Would have liked just a little more technical detail included to really enhance the credibility of the characters levels of skill and expertise.
