I was suggested this read by a colleague as I wanted to know more about Putin. overall, it's a great introduction to his back story and rise to power. I'm keen to know more!

I had high Hope's for this book based on the reviews, but it totally missed the mark for me.

Emily, as a character became super annoying - I began to feel really sorry for Jamieson!! the first couple of chapters were great.... but she kept changing her mind and fighting with him for fighting sake......

I much prefer the crossfire series.... I thought Jamieson had elements of Gideon..... I'd have liked to have seen him either be more assertive with Emily, or to tell her to p**s off a bit more! I'd have also liked to hear more from Jamiesons side too... most of this book is told by Emily.

The narrators were fab. really enjoyed them and how they told the story!

I am now in love with an Irish man called leon 😍<br />

what a lovely story and so very well read. I think this might be my most fav book from audible to date. Both Tiffy and Leon are just wonderful characters. I definitely recommend this book!!

amazing narrator!! I really enjoyed her voice and the way she told this story!

I most definitely mistook this book as a romance novel- based entirely on the title and because I disnt properly read the blurb or actually look at the books picture front cover. I thought there was 2 people on the pier!! honestly- I'm a silly billy!!

anyways - I'm glad I made the mistake because this book was lovely. a bit slow to start, but I really enjoyed how it was written and told - esp from each characters perspective as well as the 2 different time lines. I thought I could guess what was going to happen, but it's got a good twist!

the book was really well finished too. not rushed and not cut off at the end. definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this story. it was an easy listen with really likeable characters :-) I didnt find there to be a big plot twist - it wasnt a gasp type moment when the storyline climaxed, but I didnt mind that.

I've seen a few reviews commenting on the narrator which nearly put me off this book. admittedly, I got it because it was my book club book choice for this month - but!! i quite enjoyed her narration. it took a little for me to warm to her, and i think she starts quite wooden, but clearly starts to enjoy the story herself and gets into her narration. I will def proactively look at more books by the same author and narrator!

I've just finished listening to this book and its come about at a particularly challenging moment of my career. I quite like Ant's visualisation of the fear bubble and how he tackles specific situations.

His thoughts and feelings my not be to everyone's agreement, but if you've tried and tested other methods and they haven't worked for you - theres no harm with trying this one, is there ;-)

Ants narration is spot on and the story of his Everest journey carrie's this book from start to finish.

I loved it!

Not a book I'd have chosen to read on my own - this was a choice from my monthly book club. However, I honestly cant wait to sit down with them and discuss it!!

I loved every single character- each one bringing a special role to this story. I really enjoyed the twist - although I'd already guessed it - it was a good transition in the story.

My only critique (and it's really very minor) is that Maddie's internal monologue tended to repeat itself and drag on a little too long for my liking about 2 thirds of the way in. I'd have preferred to hear Sarah's thoughts more.

I'd definitely recommend this book! the narrator was brilliant - I loved her voice and the subtle changes she brought about with each character. I will be looking forward to hearing her again!!

enjoyed it as the next book in the series - but found the story line a little slow. as the listener, you can hear how riley is getting her assumptions wrong and it's quite frustrating that shes not listening to him.
looking forward to the next book though - this one leaves quite a good cliff hanger!!

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I got it because I wanted a chick flick I didnt have to think to hard work... but I enjoyed the characters and their story a lot! I like Colton and his broody nature, and Rylee isn't as annoying and needy as some other leading ladies I've come across.

overall a great story and am looking forward to the next one :-)

I dont really know where to start!

Narrator: was wonderful. She played each character really well and her own emotions were so obvious toward the climax of this story - it def had an impact to how much I cried!!. She did a great job considering the scene!!

Characters: my goodness. I hated 1 of them - Jess......Pitied another - Lily........and was incredibly frustrated with the last - Audrey. I loved Phoebe and Mia though and felt they couldve been developed a lot more which may have led to the main story line not feeling so drawn out.

Story: the personal tragedy of this family feels terribly unlikely and very drawn out. The big secret comes together really well, but could've arrived much quicker than allowed. I did nothing but cry during this book. Theres nothing heart warming about it. The big secret in itself was utterly heartbreaking!!

I advise to make sure you have a box of tissues when embarking on this book.
