The Greek myths are amongst the greatest stories ever told, passed down through millennia and inspiring writers and artists as varied as Shakespeare, Michelangelo, James Joyce and Walt Disney. They are embedded deeply in the traditions, tales and cultural DNA of the West. You'll fall in love with Zeus, marvel at the birth of Athena, wince at Cronus and Gaia's revenge on Ouranos, weep with King Midas and hunt with the beautiful and ferocious Artemis.

I listened to this book in January when I didn't have so much Christmas cheer, which I think may be why ultimately I rated it as 3 stars (bah humbug). I found Matt Haig's style grated in places - can't put my finger on why.

But it's definitely a book my kids will love, and I cannot rate Carey Mulligan's narration highly enough. The perfect voice for this book!

An excellent book introducing statistics to the uninitiated. But it doesn't translate well to just audio - I needed to see the visuals and formulae it describes to fully digest what it was discussing.
3 stars if read just as an audiobook. 4 stars if done in combination with a print copy.
