Starts out well enough, but so many characters.. many with similar sounding names..Miranda, Melisa, Felicity, etc,.that I found it hard to keep track - especially as most of the characters lacked any depth it was hard differentiate.
By the halfway I was beginning to zone out and lose interest, found myself not caring enough about any of them bother finding out what 'happened'... didn't care if they'd all parachuted off of Westminster Abbey and turned into Wombles.

Somewhat far fetched, not as good as last one

Enjoyable but somewhat far fetched. Found myself shouting back with incredulity on at least four occasions...one being, when our hero cop is threatened by an ex girlfriend (another cop), off duty with a gun. Our hero calmly walks away leaving her threatening all sorts to him and to herself...but our guy (who always does the right thing and upholds the law and decency and his prized moral compass)..what does he do? call it in? Get her arrested for being in possession of a firearm, threatening behavior?? Nope, he leaves the clearly unhinged dangerous lunatic to continue working as a Police Officer, climbing the career ladder, where she later becomes his boss.....really??if he didn't care for his own safety...what about everyone else??

When i first read this book a number of years ago it had a great impact on me. It helped me gain a lot of clarity, and from that; energy and sense of purposefulness. I loved it and recommended it to a lot of people. However, the gems are enmeshed in the endless tedious personal story, that if you blink, you could miss them. In short it felt bit like someone had a great idea, jotted it down on the back of a very small envelope and then thought...right, how can I monetize this? (first find adequate wadding) .Don't count on being able to find reminders of the all important 'how to' parts. No simple outline or recap of the most important bits in easy to find format ...no, its nearly impossible to recap main ideas without wading back through the treacle. If you do manage to make it to the last page without screaming or throwing the book across the room, well done. Its a shame because there really is something here of great value, but infuriatingly hidden and difficult to recap or summarize - especially if you've not read it for a while - you just have to keep going back and forth and back and forth trying to find relevant parts among the treacle. I also found that the single most important element is made so little of that many will probably miss it's relevance. I bought the audio version thinking it might be easier to pick back up on....but i just exchanged turning pages back and forth to constantly having to rewind! Exhausting, irritating, but the one gem that i did discover was worth having.

Really enjoyed overall, well written, beautifully narrated, main character brilliant, My only comment would be that it was left a bit in the air; with main story left hanging as well as a couple of background stories left incomplete...maybe they continue in next book?

Starts out well, then gradually becomes ever more implausible and tedious. Story line becomes more and more entangled and proportionately less interesting, so much so that i just could not even be bothered to finish it. Shame, because well read and good lead character.

A rip roaring, page turning, edge of your seat tale. Brilliant story, brilliantly narrated. Manages to be chilling yet somehow ungratuitous. Excellently written, nuanced, poignant with excellent characterization .Character of Dan Riley impeccably drawn, utterly lovable, believable and deeply human. Loved it.

Good story, bad narrator, bring back original narrator! Love the Galloway series. My only fault is the vast explosion of characters that always happens mid plot, just too many competing and irrelevant characters that i zone out at times and i find i dont have a clue (nor care) about them enough to pay attention and zzzzzz, until a character i can identify comes back into play, then I'm "back in the room" as they say.

A tight page turner.

I loved this book, a real gripper, kept me hanging on in there page after page...only criticism was the very odd epilogue, weak, ambiguous and not sure what it was meant to convey, confusing and inconclusive. Otherwise, a great read.
