I gave up on this after five or six stories. Maybe the rest of the book is amazing, but the ones i listened to were gosh awful. Dull and poorly narrated

If you've got some credits to burn then this ones OK. I had to listen to it on x1.25 speed. Once the story gets going, its quite interesting. I liked how not everything was explicit; there's room for the reader to fill in some of the gaps. I'd say its a good listen, but not amazing.

The writing isn't great, it's lazy and predictable. Some of the content is down right stupid in places. Obvious and predictable suspense scenes. The narrator doesn't do it justice either; he constantly sounds shocked and almost too cheery for the content. It's just not a good book at all. Try it if you like obvs but if you like good writing and believable character actions and appropriate narration then give it a miss.

My favourite so far. They literally get better as the series goes on. Roll on the next one!

More action based than story based. Zero characterisation of anyone.
Predictable plot.
The story is just a blow by blow account of different families interaction with the affected but it's the exact same for all of them just with different names. I found that really jarring in trying to get into the story.
It has no feel or life in it

Narration was good though. The voice suited the story

I think Stephen King tends to write amazing stories and hour use but the endings are always pretty weak IMO. This had an alright story (there were parts that I felt were predictable, or just plain lazy plot devices that went against how a character would think or act just so it propelled the story) but I was holding back tears at the end; it was really beautiful. Looking forward to reading the next one

Would you try another book written by Scott Sigler or narrated by Scott Sigler?

As long as he doesn't narrate it himself then maybe

Has Infected put you off other books in this genre?

I love this genre but this book was garbage IMO

What didn’t you like about Scott Sigler’s performance?

Voice acting was terrible. Made me cringe and eventually turn off. There is little differentiation between characters and when there is, it's a satirical representation of the type of person he's voicing for

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I gave up after 2 hours. Maybe it picks up but Im not wasting anymore time

Any additional comments?

Definitely a young adults book. I feel it appeals to people who like the zombie apocalypse genre in media rather than zombie apocalypse books. It's over dramatised in its performance. It's under developed in its characterisation. It's cheesy. It's predicrable. I hate when authors stop the narrative to talk to the reader. I just didn't like anything about this book
