Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble - that it's been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and he still loves her - but that almost seems besides the point now. Two days before they're supposed to visit Neal's family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells him that she can't go. She's a TV writer, and something's come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her - he is always a little upset with her - but she doesn't expect to him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

I am disappointed. The book was boring. The repetition of her husband’s name was maddening by the middle of the book. All I could remember was Georgie saying Neal, Neal, Neal.... so often. I was really disappointed with this story. It didn’t pull me in.

The pace of the narration was unbearably slow. Like many others mentioned, I also had to listen at 1.25x speed. I wasn't as sucked in as I've been with her other books but it was still a good story.

I absolutely loved this book. It was moving and beautifully written. I wish could forget and listen to it all over again. I will definitely look for all Lucy Diamond's books. The narration was perfect too.

I enjoyed the story greatly but the narrator was just awful. The character voices were almost childish and too high pitched and didn't suit the ages of the characters depicted. Especially poor were the male voices, they sounded like petulant young adolescent boys. It nearly put me off listening but the story itself kept me going.
