I think this might be one of those books that's better read in print. I couldn't warm to Lila at all, she seemed always to be moaning and whinging. The narrator's voice grated on me. I endured it because I'd paid for it but was relieved to have finished. The emails being read aloud were painful at times, especially the ones from Katie that were always sent 5 or 6 times and included multiple exclamation marks on every sentence. I found myself skipping forward often.

I was supposed to be going out but delayed leaving in order to hear the last five chapters. A really good thriller with plenty of twists and turns.

An enjoyable listen. I found myself irritated my the brands mentioned repeatedly e.g. iPhone not mobile phone, Nespresso not coffee maker. No need for it!

Luke did a great job as always. I found this easier to listen to than to read but that might be because I was ready for the gory bits this time!

highly recommended - check out Luke's other work on Amazon and Audible too.

I received this audio book free of charge in exchange for an unbiased genuine review .

It's just ok really. Quite predictable and very forgettable. Well read and easy to listen to but the big secret was a let down.

I chose this after seeing trailers for the upcoming film. It did not disappoint. The characters have sufficient depth and the opportunity to share their own perspective, albeit briefly. My only gripes were minor 'we finished our coffees' when Lou meets Mrs Traynor in a cafe when it had already been said that she was drinking tea, and Lou's diving trip takes place the day before they fly home, whereas it is not actually safe to dive the day before or after a flight and her qualified instructor would have known that.

I multitask while listening which is sometimes detrimental to my understanding of the story but I think I managed to overcome that with this book, one of many by this author that I have listened to and enjoyed. I was engaged in the story (although disappointed that one of the characters didn't come to a sticky end in Primark, which is pretty close to hell on Earth) and the author's narration makes the characters convincing and suitably menacing at times.
