In a powerful new vision, Dr. Brené Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability and dispels the widely accepted myth that it's a weakness. She argues that, in truth, vulnerability is strength, and when we shut ourselves off from vulnerability - from revealing our true selves - we distance ourselves from the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives.

I absolutely loved Brené Brown reading her book Daring Greatly! Why? Because it spoke directly into my heart and mind giving me the tools to live a braver life. I am no pussy cat by any stretch of the imagination but this book together with Rising Strong has transformed my way of thinking and being (I was going to say acting, but it’s not an act anymore) for the better. As I implement the principles from these books on a day to day basis my life feels richer and I feel like I’m becoming a truer version on myself. Thank God for Brené Brown!

I can honestly say that intermittent fasting has changed my life for the better in so many ways!

Today I got on the scale after a month and a half of not weighing myself as it had been the summer holidays and although I kept to my 2 fasting days a week I wasn’t a true saint on my non-fasting days. So when I saw the reading on the scale I thought my eyes were deceiving me! I let the scale reset and got back on just to make sure I wasn’t getting it wrong...and it was true! I had reached my original goal weight!

The wonderful thing is that he hasn’t been difficult at all. I love my fasting days and the clarity of mind I have on those days. On non-fasting days I try to avoid bread, but I there are times there have been no other options. I also don’t tend to eat breakfast anymore and if I do it’s just berries or a fruit.

This is my lifestyle now and I’m so pleased as I know both my body and brain are benefitting!

Random House presents the audiobook edition of Rising Strong, written and read by Brené Brown. The physics of vulnerability is simple: if we are brave enough often enough, we will fall. This is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of disappointment, failure and heartbreak gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and Rising Strong our clearest path to deeper meaning, wisdom and hope.
