When will the rest of the books be on audible? Up there with the Hyperion Cantos for originality and fantastic writing.

Just sad it’s over - fantastic premise and hugely imaginative. Narrator was excellent and mankind’s distant descendants sounding like Brit makes perfect sense😉
I binged listener so I can look forward to listening again in a few month.

If you’re looking for something in the vain if Red Storm Rising you are in for a disappointment. Plodding story line, dull characterisation and just not a “page turner”.

In a nutshell: bygone era chap designs a beehive; current day farmer looses bees to disease and future day agricultural worker suffers a loss due to a bee.

For me, too many story threads introduced but not developed. I guess keeping the focus on the three main characters was intentional but that left too many interesting ideas unexplored.

A pleasant, if implausible, yarn.

Apart from an improbable main character, some lazy stereotyping, two demential characters and generally unconvincing plot, what’s not to like? A pleasant listen but compared to the feast that is The Martian, Artemis feels like thin gruel. Andy Weir has set such a high bar with his first novel with its grand scale and fantastic detail that Artemis feels claustrophobic and a bit too “Wild West” on the moon. Now what I really want to know is how did the Aries VIII mission to Europa go!

What a disappointment

What was most disappointing about James W. Brazier’s story?

A nauseating mix of right wing US politics, religious clap trap and pro life intolerance permiates this book. It is a clumsy and very unsubtle attempt by the author to advance his world view; god is real (the Christian one that is) and Islam is the work of the devil... Thank goodness FBI Agent Rashid has begun to see the beauty and truth of the Bible and the flaws in the Koran. Just glad it's over...

Very informative. Extremely concerning and a wake up call to all of us that value our freedoms.
