I was a little daunted when I saw how many hours this was - however after an operation & being housebound, I can honestly say that this could have been twice as long & it still would not have been enough! It is absolutely rivetting - what a life David Attenborough has had. The amount of descriptive passages take you to all the exotic locations in turn & particularly come alive with the audio version. I can only imagine that David Attenborough must have kept meticulous journals to enable him to write such a tome, with the degree of detail he has injected at every turn. It would never have been such a success had it been narrated by anyone but the great David Attenborough. I could not recommend it highly enough.
