I love this book, I’ve read it and seen the film and the tv series. But even though I know this book virtually word for word I did enjoy listening to it. Visualising the hot jungle of Malaysia to the dry outback of Australia. This book is a love story of sorts, but it’s so much more for the reader to enjoy.

L. J. Ross is the master of suspense. She writes books you can’t put down. You can’t wait for the next in the series. Her characters are so believable. The police Ryans team are like old friends.
Johnathan Keeble makes the words come alive. You can almost see them. If you want to really get lost in a good detective series, you can’t do better than the DCI Ryan books.

If you like a good detective, and one you know before you start to read. Will be a good meaty investigation. With depth color and plenty of northern humor this is the series for you
I can’t wait to start the next one. They are not just about one detective they involve the whole team. Just great!

I have read many books in my time. I love mysteries set in this era.
I have never however, longed to be listening as I have with this series. I can't wait to be listen to them.
But now I have come to the end of the series, I really don't know what to do. It's like I've lost my friend. I looked foreword so much to meeting them every time I listened.
I feel bereft, lost, I can only hope a new one hits the book shelves very soon. Excellent series, believable characters, and at times really funny!

I sat back and listened to the good narration, the range of voices, I got lost in a bye gone age. Very enjoyable looking forward to the next English mystery.
