I was looking to listen to a new series after all the Halo books I’ve listened to. Well I’ve found it, it’s just perfect.

Saskia, Dorian, Evie, and Victor aren't exactly friends at their small high school on the middle-of-nowhere colony world of Meridian. Each has their own problems, from absent parents to supporting their family, getting into a good college to making the next hit holo-film. But those problems were nothing next to the threat now facing their world: The alien alliance known as the Covenant is laying siege to Meridian. With their village in flames, the four teens find themselves stuck aboveground, locked out of the town shelter where the rest of the survivors are gathered.

Great book, amazing story I would recommend this to any halo fan, it’s a book that you can start with before getting into the deeper halo lore as seen in the forerunner trilogy or any other halo continuation.

Plus there had better be a sequel to this one! 😂

An original full-length novel set in the Halo universe and based on the New York Times best-selling video game series! Just hours following their climactic battle on the Forerunner planet Genesis, the Spartans of Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris find themselves running for their lives from the malevolent machinations of the now-renegade artificial intelligence Cortana. But even as they attempt to stay one step ahead, trouble seems to find Spartan Edward Buck no matter where he turns.

Easily my favourite line of books in the halo series, fantastic performances, amazing story and an overall amazing experience. So many emotional and tense moments made this book impressive and interesting. Couldn’t be happier with it and I would recommend it to anyone interested in Alpha 9 and halo as a whole.

While Spartans get all the glory, no soldier - not even the legendary Master Chief - wins a war on his own. Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck and his team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs) played a major role in saving the Earth from all-out invasion at the end of the Covenant War - acts of bravery and ingenuity that did not go unnoticed by the United Nations Space Command.

An amazing addition to the halo universe, great performances, and an interesting story, this book does a great job of filling in the blank spot between Buck’s time in the ODST and his rise to a Spartan. Highly recommend.
