Danny Buchanan is a top Washington lobbyist who once earned a vast fortune serving the interests of giant corporations. But then, appalled by the desperate poverty he witnessed on his global travels, he decided to use his political genius to help the world's poor. With the aid of his loyal assistant, attractive and committed Faith Lockhart, Danny now works tirelessly, and in secret, to redress the balance of power. But Robert Thornhill has rather different ideas about what constitutes public service.

Resembled an A-Team episode from the 80’s but a lot worse. I’m an avid ‘Spider Shepherd’ fan and this stands out from the rest of the series like the proverbial ‘turd in the punch bowl’. Paul Thorny was excellent as usual, 10/10.

In the Soviet hills of Dushanbe near the Afghanistan border, an otherworldly array of pillars and domes rises into the night. Between the USA and the Soviet Union, no contest is more urgent than the race to build the first missile defense system, and no one knows that more than the two men charged with assessing the Soviet's capabilities: Colonel Mikhail Filitov of the Soviet Union, an old-line warrior distrusted by the army's new inner circle of technocrats, and CIA analyst Jack Ryan, hero of the Red October affair. Each must use all his craft to arrive at the truth, but Filitov gets there first?

New York City. With a population of almost 19 million people, it’s easy to remain anonymous - even if you’re a serial killer, torturing and murdering beautiful young women. The killer has another victim right now, locked in a basement somewhere in the city. For NYPD detectives Turner and Marcinko, it’s their job to sift through those 19 million and narrow their list to the one before it’s too late. And they’re sure they have the right man in their sights.

Would you try another book written by Stephen Leather or narrated by Luke Daniels?

I'm a massive Stephen Leather fan, but this was pure S##T. It's like a Woody Allen script, a pompous prat walking about talking to himself.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stephen Leather again?

Yes, the narrator No.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Loves the sound of his own voice. The main one, I'm not sure of his name, he just annoyed me.

What character would you cut from The Basement?

Luke Daniels
