This was pretty much faultless. The story was amazing and the narration was great. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the end. I feel like we could have been given another hour or so of the aftermath and how the characters dealt with the events on the fells. I felt it ended rather abruptly and I was a bit disappointed.

Carol Wyer is one of my favourite authors. This book was excellent from start to finish. The narration was perfect and the story was gripping.
I was discussing the book with a couple of my friends and sister as we have an audible book club. The only thing I would say is that the victims were such horrible people that we all found we sympathised with the murderer and felt that after what they did that justice was actually served by the perpetrator. We didn’t have any empathy or sadness for the victims. That’s an unusual feeling to experience

I decided to read another book by Sarah A Denzil because I recently finished the first two Isabel Fielding books and they were absolutely amazing.
Sadly this book was really boring and I kept switching off. Also just about all the characters were annoying. The youngest sister was so pathetic, weak and annoying. When a character has no redeeming quality it’s hard to remain invested in the story. I am very disappointed with this story but I’ll try another book by the same author as she is capable of brilliant writing.

The story is good, the characters are well developed and the author is clever to have come up with such a good plot. Unfortunately a large amount of dialogue is so boring. I kept switching off and day dreaming which I don’t normally do whilst listening to audio books. The book had a lot of potential so it was a shame. The story was could probably have been told in half the amount of time.
The narrator is very good although her child voice is extremely creepy which made it hard to feel any compassion for the young boy.
The main character is extremely annoying. She comes across as an unprofessional, arrogant, useless psychologist with a huge chip on her shoulder. It’s impossible to like her and I’m deterred from reading more books in the series.

I originally read the Handmaids Tale at school as it was set reading material when I was about 14. I remember absolutely loving the story at the time. When the TV series started it renewed my interest in the world of Gilead.
This book was amazing and provided such a perfect ending to the whole story. The narration was wonderful, the story was engaging, emotive and very well written. I couldn’t stop listening and I’m disappointed it’s over. I would love to read more books set in Gilead m.

I love all Stephanie Hudson books. This one didn’t disappoint and the narrator is so much better than the person they used to narrate the Afterlife series. It’s lovely having a continuation of the Afterlife world but following a different thread. Lucius was always one of my favourite characters. The story is excellent and well written. I prefer it when there’s more story than just relying on sex scenes. I get sick of too much sex in all books and tend to skip past those parts. I hope the next book continues in a similar vein.

I loved this book. After recently listening to a couple of boring books I was hoping to find something amazing and this didn’t disappoint. The characters were entertaining and well developed, the story was excellent, there were supernatural elements running throughout the book which were nerve wracking and the narration was absolutely perfect. It was also quite emotive and it was easy to empathise with all the characters because the author did such a good job developing them.

I love this series and was excited when I discovered this latest book on audible. The previous books have had an amazing narrator (Bray) who really brought the characters to life.
Unfortunately this narrator just doesn’t sound right for the part of Leah. She’s kind of flat and sounds like a lot older and very dull. She makes Lea sound like she’s in her 60s. It just doesn’t suit Leah’s personality in any way. Its a shame as it detracts from the excellent story and characters.
The story deserves 5 stars but the narration means I have to award the audible version 3 stars.

I loved this book and took a couple of days to finish it. I’ve had a few audio books recently that I’ve been disappointed with so it was wonderful to find something that restored my faith in audiobooks. It was well written, gripping and very exciting. My only slight criticism is that the saliva and swallowing noises were quite loud during the narration. It was slightly off putting in places. However the author (who narrated the book herself) has a fantastic voice and is perfect for the main character.

I would have given this book 5 stars if it had not been for the ending. I was so disappointed with how it ended that it actually spoilt the story for me.
