Fantastic narrator. Perfect intonation and good accents.
Strong plot, amusing characters and a great wee plot twist at the end.

Great as always.
Perfect narration.
Good old fashioned murder mystery only this time out of London.

Terrible narration - very distracting.

I couldn't finish it, the narrators accents and pronunciation particularly that of the main character were so bad, that I couldn't focus on the storyline. Shame, as the story not bad, and am always looking for series of books, but this was just too awful. The way he pronounced 'breakfast' (and its a word used frequently at one point) was so awful, it made me stop listening.

Great Story, fantastically well narrated

Another great Bryant & May adventure

The narrator is a breath of talented fresh air after some of the dross I've listened to. He should narrate every audio book!

Awful, Robotic Narrator

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A better narrator.Tanya Eby was so robotic it was like listening to a female Stephen Hawking. So distracting from the storyline which I'm sure would have lived up to past Gerritson books I have read. The narrator is not a huge consideration for all listeners, but I find a bad (or even idiosyncratic) narrator such a distraction that I cant follow the storyline.

Any additional comments?

Will buy the physical book instead.

What did you like best about this story?

Good pace, plenty of twists, good narration.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

The Bryant and May books have been around for a while, but I have only just stumbled upon them, and very pleased I am.

As an avid consumer of books in all formats, It's great to discover a series of books that you can pick up on and follow - I've already bought 3 more, starting from the beginning.

Would you try another book written by Charles Colyott or narrated by Charles Colyott?

I will buy this book and read it, as the positive reviews are all Kindle version reviews. Clearly the narration has totally ruined what otherwise is supposed to have been a great book.I will not buy another audiobook narrated by him, however.

What could Charles Colyott have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

By employing a professional actor or narrator to narrate the book.

How could the performance have been better?

The narration was awful. I couldn't bear to listen to the book.Read like an adolescent reading out a recipe book, often mumbled and sounded as if it was recorded in the bathroom. Tinny and echo-ey (and not in a cool, atmospheric way!)The worst, the worst, the worst.

Any additional comments?

How about performance stats for narrators and a big health warnng for all writer-narrated non-autobiographical books!

Unlike some other titles of similar length, I was really aware of how long this one went on for. I was desperate for it to be over! Storyline too slow.

On the positive side, well narrated.

Much better than other recent works by same author. Getting back to the quality of storytelling in her early books.

Well narrated as usual by Lorelei King...

Good stories, well acted and narrated, however not worth £9 for 150 minutes. Admittedly I should have looked at the duration!
