I could not get into this book at all no matter how I tried. I am not often defeated like this but could find no redeeming feature in this book. I shall be reluctant to try this author again.

Miss Silver never lets me down though I did not find some of the characters altogether sympathetic. Not my favourite Miss Silver book but nevertheless a good read

I found this book delightful, I often do not ke books written by authors after the style of those I have enjoyed for years using the same characters but this was the exception. I have purchased the next in the series and very much look forward to it

I usually love this author but was very disappointed with this book. The story was muddled unbelievable and pathetic. The reader was also pathetic and annoying. Overall not worth reading. I would definitely not recommend .

I thoroughly enjoyed this book having at first been very doubtful of starting on it.as I had so loved the Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane original novels by Dorothy L Sayers However I shall now be purchasing the next novel in this series and that is surely the best compliment I can give!

I inherited most of Mary Roberts Rinehart's books from my mother many years ago and now that I can no longer see well enough to read my treasured old hard back editions I was thrilled to find them as unabridged audible editions. Thank you so much!
