So, I am not a big 'normal' romance fan, I prefer UF/PNR, this Author was recommended in one of my book clubs and I really liked the Eon series, so I tried this after reading the previous review referring to it as Indiana Jones romance.
It is! Its a great action/archaeology romance series I've now bought the others too, and I really like the characters, and the underlying story arc that spans all the books.
A very pleasant surprise!

This is book 4 in the Innkeeper Chronicles, it is the story of Maude, Dina's sister.
This series is one of my favourites and every time I think there is no way that the next book could be better than the one before, but they always are!!! They are getting better! And this book is just utter perfection!
Buy it, you will love it!
(Its best to read/listen to the others beforehand)
Enjoy!

I really liked this, its different to your typical Zombie yarn, it has great humour and lots of pop culture references which I really like.
Right off the start there is some Piers Morgan bashing, absolutely hilarious!
The narrator has an accent (US South) that is very charming to me and I learned a few new words.

Give this a try, and find out how these Zombies are different from your usual run of the mill Zombie! Spoiler: its not pleasant!
Cannot wait to find out what happens next.

Any additional comments?

I read and loved the books, listening to the series as audio books is just as enjoyable, however, I find the mispronunciation of some words really jarring.
If you are English or live in the UK you will probably agree, words like Ton and Aluminium have a different pronunciation here.
I also did not like that the name of Lord Akeldama was pronounced very differently than in the Finishing School series.
Nevertheless, I will buy the other audio books as well, I very much enjoy listening to them, and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it was funny and reminded me a bit of Harry's Game, it seemed also strangely familiar to somebody who has lived in a flatshare in London for many years... (me)

What was one of the most memorable moments of Slaving Away?

The birthing pool fishing net....
Oh yes, I know a crazy mummy or two...

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favourite?

The crazy mummy and the dominatrix

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh, the Brigadier was very funny too.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this, the only niggle is that the audiobook does not sound 'clean' I cannot describe it any other way, it seems as if there is too much noise going on, sometimes it takes attention away from what is being said... (might be just me being weird..)
Overall, if you like Miranda, you will like this.
I do hope to see more of this.

Any additional comments?

I loved the Pride books by Laurenston so I tried the Dragon series too, since this is not available in English I bought the German audio books read by Svantje Wascher, and although I love the books and stories, I will not be buying the other audio books until they are available in English, somehow I cannot get used to them being read in German I had a similar problem with the Kresley Cole books before they where available in English, that said, it also has to do with the voice of the narrator, as others have mentioned its too monotone, husky/hoarse I cannot put my finger on it exactly, but I strongly suggest you listen to the sample first.

Start to a really good series?

After looking for a while for another series that I would like, I think this might fit the bill, it has an interesting storyline with engaging characters, and a very promising set up for the next stories, that said, this is the only book available on audible at the moment, which is a shame since I would really really like to know how the story continues!! If you like Laurann Dohner, Kresley Cole, Thea Harrison and Shelly Laurenston I feel sure you will like this book (series)

I really enjoy the typical english murder mysteries, this series is very entertaining and I can wholeheartedly recommend it, I was a bit hesitant since many reviewers here mention the appalling accent of the reader, but I have to say it did not bother me too much after a while, although it really is very odd!

All in all, buy it, you will have a good time listening to it. I will get the other ones as well. :)
