what this is, is an RPG game for someone who does not play games. the literary value of this is close to zero. and although there is a place for books that do not require any brain power whatsoever, I never thought that you can pay no attention to the content and yet know exactly what is going on.

Sheriff Hayden Duke was born on the Pilgrim, and he expects to die on the Pilgrim, like his father, and his father before him. That's the way things are on a generation starship centuries from home. He's never questioned it. Never thought about it. And why bother? Access points to the ship's controls are sealed, the systems that guide her automated and out of reach. It isn't perfect, but he has all he needs to be content. Until a malfunction forces his engineer wife to the edge of the habitable zone to inspect the damage.

When she finally talks them into getting a second ship and letting her fly it, it doesn't faze her that the craft is decades old and looks like a turtle. This is the chance she's craved for years. But it's not long before the opportunity to rescue mistreated lab animals lures her from her parentally approved cargo run and embroils her in a battle between warring corporations.

good books, very easy to listen to and follow the plot. if it was not an omnibus, I guess the individual books may have been of somewhat lower content/price ratio against similar titles, but as it is - very good listening for not very much money.

This books are mediocre at best-story not particularly original or exciting, main character's tag line is: "I don't understand..." voiced in a way that is more akin to a teenage girl than a hero character that he is supposed to be. Thank God for free credits, otherwise it would have been a huge waste of cash...
