I had purchased this book as second item in a 2 for 1 offer because I didn't know what else to choose together with the book I wanted. I was sceptical because even the summary reads a bit like the one of a thriller, I suspected it wasn't really one. I still wouldn't classify it as one but it is as gripping as a thriller. I couldn't stop listening. This is also thanks to the great narration.

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook addition of According to Yes, the hilarious new novel by Dawn French. The Foreign Land of the Very Wealthy - otherwise known as Manhattan's Upper East Side - has its own rigid code of behaviour. It's a code strictly adhered to by the Wilder-Bingham family. Emotional displays - unacceptable. Unruly behaviour - definitely not welcome. Fun - no thanks. This is Glenn Wilder-Bingham's kingdom.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. I recommended it to my wife and she loved it. The story just has something that grips and touches you.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't have a favourite character. The story lives from the way how all the characters influence each other.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

The narration was perfect. I would definitely recommend the audio edition over the print version. The way how it is read emphasizes the emotions so much.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. But everyday I looked forward to my hour of listening.

Any additional comments?

Man, don't be afraid to listen to this. It is a bit girlish but the story really gripped me. I hadn't expected that but it became one of my favourite audio books.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair to be better than the print version?

I think they are the same. The narration is great. After listening to the audio edition I'm now reading the print version to my wife and enjoy it just the same.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Markus. Although a big part of the story is about Harry, I rather identified myself with Markus. Of course I felt with Harry but from a different perspective. Harry is the one knowing everything (or almost everything) while Markus slowly has to reveal the truth just like the reader. But one character wouldn't be the same without the other. That's so beautiful about the story, the way how it is composed.

Have you listened to any of Robert Slade’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The story has some funny scenes that really made me laugh.I didn't cry but the story has a very strong emotional side. It is impressive how the lifes of all the characters are interwoven with each other.

Any additional comments?

The way how the story unfolds is brilliant. I've never read anything like this.
