I am so glad I didn’t give up on this as I so nearly did. It is a well crafted book with fabulous language and it tells the story of social ignorance in an Ireland of yesteryear. I loved it!

I love audiobooks and quite liked this but I found the narrator irritating at times due to disjointed reading or incorrect timings/intonation. The story was vaguely interesting but I feel like I’ve wasted time listening to an ultimately uninspiring tale. Sorry to be negative!
