Erica’s time away from her pack was just supposed to be fun. Then she met Hudson. Instead of the no-strings attached fling, she ended up falling for him. But they’d promised each other that they’d keep things casual. Instead of risking her heart, she ran. Now she’s pregnant - and he’s determined to claim her. But the last thing she wants is to be an obligation to him. Erica could never be a duty to Hudson, but for some reason that’s what she thinks she is. He tried to go slow, to give her space - so he wouldn’t scare her off. Now he realizes that was a mistake.

I would have liked to give this story 3.5 Stars but unfortunately there isn't a facility to do so, so rated with 3 Stars.

We are introduced to the main characters when they have already spent an explosive month with each other but it was now time to make a decision to either stay or go. Erica wants to stay as she has fallen in love but Hudson hasn't said anything about wanting her to stay, or about mating her so it is obviously time to move on. Over the next few weeks they kept in touch via Skype and calls but Erica has now discovered she is pregnant and feels she owes it to Hudson to tell him face-to-face that he is going to be a father.

For a novella of 2 hours & 13 minutes this seemed to have a lot of content and we get alternating points of view so see the story from both sides. Yes there are misunderstanding on both sides which would have been cleared up easily if both parties communicated with each other, but there isn't a lot of drama or angst just a pleasant love story. As always with a Katie Reus story it flows well making the story very enjoyable......Although I am not a fan of Novellas and often skip them when reading a series, I always look forward to all of Katie's books whether full stories or short as I know I will be in for a good read.

Mac and Eve have known each other since they were kids, he realised he had a thing for her when he was 18 and she was 16, but of course he knew he could never touch her as she was his best friends little sister. Eve has had a thing for Mac for what seems like forever but he had never shown that kind of interest in her and she didn’t want to do anything to ruin their friendship so kept those feelings to herself, until one night when she found herself in danger and knew he was the only one who could help her.

As they both knew each other and already had feelings this cannot be termed as insta-love but it did seem to happen quick, but then this is only a novella so it had to be, having said that for a novella it sure did have a lot of content which was full of both romance and suspense. As with all Katie Reus stories this was easy to read and the story flowed well keeping us on the edge of our seats right until the end wondering who was the killer and the person trying to see her dead!

This is the story of Brook's half sister who we quickly got to meet in his story (Resurrection). A contract has been put out to kidnap Hadley in order to extort ransom money from her father who is a multimillionaire business man. The job was passed on to Axel so that he could stop the kidnap and protect her from the vicious man who plans revenge on her father and has no intention of releasing her regardless of what her father pays.

Innocent Target is a much shorter book than the previous ones in the series but it is still packed full with action and felt much longer than what it was. Normally books that seem longer is due to them dragging but it's not the case with this one, it was just that it had so much content. As an added bonus we got to catch up with some of the other characters of the series and spent a fair amount of time with Skye & Colt (Dangerous Witness) as well as Hadley's brother Brooks

The only complaint I have about this story is the insta-love that went on between Hadley & Axel, their time together should have been fleshed out a bit more therefore cementing their relationship and their declarations of love.

Miss Reus has definitely hit the mark with this series. Written in her usual easy flow each story captivates the reader from the start and keeps the interest going right to the end. From very early on I was eager to see Brooks and Darcy's HEA but was sorry when I got to the last few chapters as I didn't want it to end.

I have read all of Ms Reus's series and virtually all of her work and enjoyed them all, but this series has leaped to the top of my favourite alongside the Moon Shifter series....Looking forward to reading Axel & Hadley's story next but really looking forward to Gage & Nova's story which follows that.

I have always enjoyed stories narrated by Sophie Eastlake and I thought she did a good job of this too.

For me this was one of the best of the series!

Ian a half dragon half demon shifter and Fiona a full dragon shifter had been lovers and was intending to mate 50 years ago but was cruely ripped apart by Fiona's family who considered Ian to be inferior due to his demon blood. Ian had been told that Fiona had mated another dragon meaning there was no future for them so he left the area, little did he know that Fiona refused to go through with her familys plans so they locked her in chains for a year and by the time she was released Ian had well and truely disappeared.

There was plenty of action going on with more story telling and we got to catch up with some of the couples & characters from the previous stories.

Brad is the town Sheriff and has always had a bit of a thing for Fallon but is initially unaware that she is planning to leave and only finds out after he has made his move and a relationship is developing between them. Brad knows he can't stop the woman he loves from realising her dreams but also knows he can't let her go so has to come up with a solution to the dilemma.

Another short story but a cute one none the less. Usually short stories include a case of insta-love but that's not the case with these novellas as they tend to be couple who have known, liked and had feelings before. These novellas feel like a section has been cut out of a full story and we get to read the end third - Ms Reus does a good job of giving us a concise backstory so well aware of the couples history and have they got to the stage we get to read.

I am not ususally a great fan of novellas as like to read the whole story but the stories are very well written and I don't feel I've wasted my time reading them as is often the case, so if you are a reader of romance and want to read a good, cute well written short story then these are for you.
