Confused

Overall
2 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 08-10-19

I fully expected that this book would teach me the Buteyko breathing method: I can't even find it mentioned in the book!! I also expected by the book cover that it would have a guided relaxation: no it does not. It gives ideas of things to do like eat well, get enough sleep, exercise etc. nothing we don't already know, but no instructions at all. Maybe I am missing something here because all other reviews are five star!!

Would you listen to Mind Over Medicine again? Why?

I am going to listen to it again and again. It is packed full of good advice, positive attitude and hope. Lissa does not interfere with your spiritual beliefs so it doesn't matter what your religion or beliefs are, so many times I have returned books because they go into Buddhism or Hypnosis which is contrary to some of our beliefs, but this book is honest, open and a definite must have.

What other book might you compare Mind Over Medicine to, and why?

Nothing yet because it is the only one so far that has met my expectations without advocating that you believe in anything but your self.

What does Lissa Rankin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

You can lie back, relax while listening to her calm, friendly and articulate reading. It is as though she is sitting next to you talking to you like a friend.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are a couple of sad experiences that touch your heart, there are some witty annotations too.

Any additional comments?

Yes, thank you Lissa, I have been waiting for this and searching so far without much success and now, I have found you.
