I’ve struggled with decluttering for a while and have looked at other books which, although impressive, haven’t really resonated with me.

Debora is like a really good friend who tells it like it is and gets you - well, me for sure! - to rethink why I’ve become so attached to stuff.

Her no nonsense, common sense approach, coupled with the warmth and compassion is a real winner.

I liked the audible version so much (great content, beautifully narrated) that I bought the book as well.

Couldn’t have come at a better time as I’m about to downsize on quite a scale.

Highly recommended and thank you Debora!

I love pretty much anything by Peter James. I was introduced to him by a friend years ago (thank you Julie!).

I enjoyed this from the first chapter which grabs you by the throat, right through to the last which does the same.

One of the things I particularly enjoy is how he ‘paints’ his characters (also helped by the excellent reading!). It’s quick and easy to get into the book and for me there always seems to be the right number of people to deal with.

It was really quite creepy- which coming from a long-time horror/thriller fan is some praise! Thank you Peter!

The other thing I like are the short chapters. It keeps the story threads all moving along at a good pace.

Also makes it easier to pick up for a quick reading or listening session.

I’m laughing at myself at that last comment as I couldn’t put it down!! (“Just another quick chapter!”)

I’m left with that wonderful feeling of ‘aw, I’ve finished it’ 😢and ‘what’s next? I want more of this!’ 👍😀

Keep em coming Peter!

I loved it

I was intrigued by the description and thought I’d really enjoy this.

Emilia Fox’s reading was excellent but the story didn’t really pull me in as I’d hoped.

Several times I felt like giving up but kept going to see if it lived up to its promise.

The ending was interesting, there was a good twist or two but it took too long to unfold for my liking. Good premise which I’d have personally enjoyed more if it was faster paced and less flowery.

I always enjoy a Peter James book and this was teased at the end of Dead If You Don’t.

That was enough for me - I was hooked by the excerpt and got online. I just didn’t want to wait!

Given the choice of buying (and waiting for) the hardback, or immediate download, I downloaded it and started listening right away.

This is a real page turner and it’s so good that it’s kept me up late a few nights 😊. Great story and compelling characters.

Hugh Bonneville narrates an intriguing story beautifully. He makes it easy to know who is talking and it speeds along, carrying us with it.

I love it when you get close to the end and want to finish it but don’t - if you know what I mean?

Then we get the bonus of Peter James himself sharing insights at the end.

Brilliant. Thank you PJ, HB & Audible. I loved it.

I loved this book which was read clearly and powerfully by its author Jenni Murray.

There were women I had never heard of and I also gained insight into other women I had heard of.

It seems an almost impossible task to restrict it to just 21 so there surely is scope for a second volume - or even one on women of the world.

Some reviewers criticised Jenni’s use of accents. I found it helpful. I also liked the measured pace of her reading.

Some complained about the inclusion of Margaret Thatcher but I believe it was vital that she was included.

I wondered about the inclusion of Nicola Sturgeon (too soon?) but thoroughly enjoyed that chapter - and was interested to hear of her dedication and commitment to ongoing improvement. A great example of the resilience and persistence shown by many of these women.

Inspiring mini biographies which are likely to whet your appetite for more information on any or all of the women profiled.

A book that is inspiring, educational, entertaining and enjoyable. I recommend it and hope it is read by men and women - especially young people as they have a wealth of good role models in here.

Thank you.

I really enjoyed this. She gets inside the head of the main characters and I love the darkness. Vivid descriptions bring it all to life. Some interesting twists too.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and especially liked the fact that it was read by Neil Gaiman himself.

He really brought the stories and characters to life.

I've been a fan of Thor since I was 8 or 9 (loving those comic books!). So this was a joy.

I'm off to get more Neil Gaiman now!

What an interesting and intriguing story. I really enjoyed it - and especially the range of emotions and moral dilemmas covered.

Made me wonder - what would I do?

Fascinating from a sociological and psychological perspective, as well as being a blooming good story. Thank you again SK, from another 'constant reader'

I've really enjoyed this collection. As a 'constant reader' of Stephen King's I wanted some shorter stories to enjoy. Loved it. He creates mood and feeling. I especially enjoyed the stories read by him.
