Carpe Jugulum is the 19th book in the Discworld series and I have really enjoyed the narration given by Nigel Planer. I've got used to his interpretation of all the different charactets, for me he brought Terry Pratchett's creations to life and I was so looking forward to listening to the rest of the series with Nigel. However when I went to purchase The Fifth Elephant I was disappointed to see that Nigel Planer had not continued with the narration. No matter now I tried I couldn't find out of they were in the pipeline or not. Early on in the series I made a mistake in one of my purchases and ended up with one of the narrations by Tony Robinson, no offence to him but his voice does not fit well with The Discworld books and I very quickly stopped listening and repurchased it with the correct narrator. Having had this trouble I was in two minds as to whether I would continue with with the Audible versions or not but I had withdrawal symptoms so I had to try Stephen Briggs' narration on The Fifth Elephant and to my absolute delight his voice fitted the characters almost as well as Nigel Planer's. It will take a few books to readjust to the new voices of the characters but I'm happy to carry on. My only hope is that Mr Briggs has finished the series so I won't have to break in another narrator. I really love these books and with the right narrator they are so enjoyable to listen too. The big regret is that Terry is no longer with us so sooner or later my pleasurable listening time will come to an end but in the meantime I intend to savour every delightful minute.

Bought this to listen too while taking a walk, money well spent. Stories are funny and so pleasant to listen too. Hannah Platts is very good with the character voices who with her help come alive and you find yourself liking some and loathing others. I do have to be careful though as I do have a habit of making the odd comment when the situation requires one, which once you get into the storylines can be quite often. I think I'm going to enjoy this series of stories.
