No Kevin - Enough !

Mr Eldon, please, please, please refrain from simply larking about in support of others.

Mr Eldon's agent, please stop Kevin, right now, before it's too late - statistically he's only got about 30 years left. Surely that warrants some sort of intervention or support, clearly at this point he's an endangered species - !

Mr Eldon brings to audio comedy; a clarity of purpose, supreme timing, matched by technical audacity, an incisive wit and a subtle understanding of conversational nuance. A verve and energy that teeters way over the edge, into the surreal.

Series 2 celebrates, subverts, and sidesteps pretension with a myriad of comic approaches, bringing a knowing wit and subtle cadence that is both explosively funny and utterly charming.

He is, in short, a comedic polymath.

Let him run free !!!.....

Thank you Mr Eldon.

Comedy’s best-kept secret ingredient gets his own sketch show. This is the complete first series, containing sketches, characters, sound effects, bit of music, some messin’ about, you know.... Kevin Eldon is a comedy phenomenon. He’s been in virtually every major comedy show in the last 15 years, but not content with working with the likes of Chris Morris, Steve Coogan, Armando Iannucci, Harry Enfield & Paul Whitehouse, Stewart Lee, Julia Davis, and Graham Linehan, he finally decided to put together his own comedy series for BBC Radio 4.

Remember those days when it seemed that laughing would leave you legless, wet and aching to the point of pain... Well, get ready to re-live the sheer childish pleasure of laughing so uproariously that milk spurts out of your nose.

Eldon's perceptive take on societal situations, cultural norms and on the efficacy of a good laugh can leave you breathless - so please remain seated...

Please do, go ahead, and grab a glass of milk... (or some other nutritiously beneficial liquid lubricant).

Press play; ensuring of course, that you are wearing a bib of some sort.... and simply enjoy !

I've had this recording for quite some time, and have re-listened repeatedly.. it was remiss of me not to review at an earlier stage - but it's so hard to type when clutching your ribs, to ease the pain of laughter....

Mr Eldon, I thank you.

(my dry cleaning bill is on the way to your agent).

Kevin Eldon does not entertain - he beguiles, bewilders, bludgeons and beautifully explores the full potential for; Auditory - Comedic - Exposition - quite simply the guy is ACE.

I sat on the Chuo line, in Tokyo, intending to travel three stops and ended up staying on for over an hour, then an hour back to my original destination ! ...just to stay tuned into the show. Crying with laughter and shaking with joy. Fellow early morning Sunday passengers looked on with concern, the naturally reserved Japanese unable to bring themselves to engage with the bizarrely guffawing gaijin.

The concept, technical precision and the sheer genius comedy of series 1 and 2 has once again moved up a step.

Why Kevin Eldon is not celebrated for the comedic genius he is ... is simply beyond me.

Echoes of the finer moments of Spike Milligan, Tony Hancock, Marty Feldman, Barry Took, Eddie Braben, Kenny Everett, Stuart Lee, Milton Jones, Frankie Boyle - but all jiggled together in a delicious comedy stew, simmered to perfection in the spirit of Dirk Maggs - With a supporting cast of actors who are as perfect a combination as you can get... and the guy can sing as well !!

Please provide more opportunities for Mr Eldon to share his genius.

Thank you Mr Eldon.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Never have so few owed so much to so little.
The Few - Myself and those sitting close enough to hear the tinny tingle tangle from my earbuds explosively punctuated by nasal snorting, wheezing guffaws and decidedly off kilter inner chortles.
The Much - laughter, chuckles and flickers of recognition ignited by the traits we so readily recognise reflected in those around us, compassion for the frailties of social conscience revealed through Clare's tenuous grasp of empathy - followed by much, much sorrow as the fading credits roll.
The Little - little expenditure and little effort on my part, other than pressing play and settling back to ride the Yamanote line in an endless loop around chilly Tokyo whilst basking in the warmth of British humour.
Thank you Mr Venning, Cast & Production team
and thank you Audible.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Clare in the Community: Series 10?

The exquisitely spine tingling flood of Clare's bombastic rhetoric... gladly it was too often free flowing to be recorded faithfully without listening with a stopwatch.... (I possess no stopwatch so sadly can't respond with precision...)

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Yes - the whole series issued so far.... but how can one compare one delicious course from a stupendous banquet with another.... ? -

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Other than almost falling off my seat with intermittent spasmodic laughter.... all of the audiobook tweaked some part of my anatomy.

Any additional comments?

(Yes... I do recommend this audiobook !)

Jon Ronson is fascinated by madness, extraordinary behaviour and the human mind. He has spent his life investigating crazy events, following fascinating people and unearthing unusual stories. Collected here from various sources (including The Guardian and GQ America) are the best of his adventures.
