I prefer books that have a research base that is broader than anecdotes and chats with friends and neighbours.

I also didn't expect the constant scripture references, not my cup of tea.

It also felt rather ranty and loud.

Sorry, I skipped a lot and tried to persevere but I did not get on with this style or approach.

Loved this book, where does the time go?

I love magic so I guess that helps, I also love Great Expectations by Dickens, which it oddly reminds me of in its style, atmospherics and its wide ranging cast list.
It reads as though it is painstakingly researched, despite it being fiction, which is an impressive achievement. At the end I was left wondering... Could there be a sequel? Let's hope yes.

I bought this as a buy one get one free and didn't realize that it was the third in the series. I had to google it to fill in bits of the plot and some of the jargon. Despite that, once up to speed I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the performance was very amusing and I like the character voices.

Made a real change. Definitely recommend.

I struggled to wade through this... Putting it on double time to try to get to the point. Characters didn't do anything for me and I preferred the plot set in the past rather than present day.

Many more books worth reading instead... Sorry, just didn't work for me at all.

An emotional story which grips from the beginning. Characters which you can't help feeling must be real.... Surely? It tackles a difficult issue unwaveringly and authentically. A new classic.

Totally captivating. Head numbing and tense, horror and suspense. A great listen especially on winter nights. I dare you to press play......

I don't like chick lit as a rule, but I stuck with this one and it was a good pay off. It's a nice place to take a head vacation.
