A good motivational listen as you drive, walk or run. Eton College did an especially good PR job in there.

Born in the same year as Murdoch arrived in London, this story is the news track of my life. The effect of the uncouth Australian is one we should understand well. Populism, pragmatism, power, persecution and the press are all here.

More of a radio documentary than a book, and probably all the better for it. Original audio and interviews with the people involved give greater depth to Gladwell's uniquely excellent storytelling. As you might expect, it all weaves together at the end.

Excellent interviews, real people, and a story which explains chillingly how a KGB bureaucrat, placed in power by oligarchs in a kleptocracy, came to master the game of gaining and keeping power.

Inspiring, modest and breathtaking. His final resting place between Newton and Darwins tells all. He was present at, or part of, every major cosmological breakthrough from 1965 onwards.
