Lois Tverberg knows the treasures that await listeners willing to learn how to see the Bible through Jewish eyes. By helping them understand the Bible as Jesus and his first-century listeners would have, she bridges the gaps of time and culture in order to open the Bible to listeners today.

This book really helps with understanding the bible. Also I found the richness of Hebrew words in that they are able to communicate so much more compared to English words quite fascinating. The narration was pleasant to listen to also. Would highly recommend.

For decades Michael Savage has been preaching his political faith of borders, language, and culture to millions on his nationally syndicated radio show, The Savage Nation. Now Savage gives his audience a look into his religious faith and his ideas about the Judeo-Christian foundation of the American culture he has fought all his life to preserve. But rather than a dry, theological treatise, Savage provides something more akin to an ancient mystery text.

Towards the end Michael talks about the duality of man. I agree there is a battle between the flesh and the spiritual side of man (spiritual side only being obtained after rebirth). I believe what he's talking about here is sanctification. We are sanctified( made holy) by the spirit and not by our own efforts. We can not be fully sanctified in this world but only be totally holy in the next life. We must surrender ourselves totally to the Lord and ask for the help we need (because it's impossible to do it by ourselves, we are flesh by nature and the flesh does not crave sanctification, it's against it's very nature ). The lord said he'd provide a helper (The Holy Spirit ) and we must be lead by the Holy Spirit in our walk through this life. Michael said we must harness the power of the animal spirit but I think it must be killed off in our walk of sanctification and we will never be totally free until the next life. When he talks about not acting on immoral thoughts it is God who gives us strength to resist ( the natural choice for the flesh would be to act on these thoughts ). There is only one way and that is through faith in our lord Jesus Christ and total surrender to him not relying on our own strength. I apologise if I have misinterpreted the last part of the book.

For centuries, Christians of all ages have turned to this book to help guide them in their journey as they follow Christ. This book is one of the great classics of the Christian faith, calling believers to pursue holiness and endure suffering as they rest in Christ alone. In this new translation, Aaron Denlinger and Burk Parsons capture John Calvin's biblical faithfulness, theological integrity, and pastor's heart.

A subject new to me. Will look more into the subjects of, charismatics, revelation and other parts of the bible which mention Holy fire. Wouldn't say I was inspired to look more into the topic but maybe God doesn't want to lead me in that direction at the moment. Would also say I've always been sceptical when it comes to preachers on tv talking about healings, maybe I should be more open and not be put off by incidents later being discovered to be fake.
