Vanna Bonta is an American novelist, poet and essayist. Bonta began writing poetry and short fiction at age six. By age eleven she spoke four languages and had traveled around the world twice with her parents of Dutch and Italian ancestry. She has ridden camels in Egypt's Sahara Desert and elephants in Thailand. She learned sharp-shooting from her father at age nine, and her first job was playing piano for a ballet class at age ten. Growing up with children of many nationalities who practiced different religions was a foundation that would grow into a fascination with the mystery of the human spirit reflected in Bonta's works. Her signature voice is poetic, influenced by American South common sense, Italian Renaissance humanism, and Asian-Hindu zoetic awareness. Bonta's support of creativity advocates life as a celebration. Her storytelling stages the human adventure in a vast cosmos.
