I was born and raised in West Yorkshire (north of England), and since starting my rock collection aged four I have held a continued fascination with the natural world. Following an undergraduate degree in geology and a PhD in cosmochemistry, I am now a research scientist at the University of Bristol and the British Geological Survey (Nottingham). Specifically, I research the coming together of our Solar System 4.6-billion years ago using stones that fall from the sky: meteorites. When I am not in the lab or writing, I am usually either hiking, photographing landscapes, or playing my guitar.
