Sandra J. Cady is a former Detroit police officer and past owner of a private investigation agency. Her bachelor's degree is in criminal justice, and her master's degree is in administration. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, The Short Mystery Fiction Society, Mystery Writers of America, and Private Eye Writers of America. She's written two mystery novels as well as several short stories. A longtime resident of southeastern Michigan, she also spent ten years in Yuma, Arizona. When not reading a mystery, she can be found strolling parks and neighborhoods. She enjoys gardening, golf, and has traveled to several countries. Her mystery novel, A Game of Luck, featuring Detroit homicide detective Sam Roma, is available in print format through Black Rose Writing, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other book selling sites. It is available from Kindle in English, Spanish, and German. The audiobook is for sale at Amazon, iTunes, and Audible. Her mystery short story, High School Reunion, appears in the anthology, The Not So Frail Detective Agency, published 12-9-25 and available on Amazon and other book sites. This mystery anthology is a finalist for the 2026 Derringer Award. Her short story, For the Love of Writing, appeared in the 3-20-26 issue of Punk Noir. Her story, New Orleans Bound, will be in Yellow Mama magazine on 10-18-26.
