Rupa Mahadevan is a fiction writer of psychological thrillers and romance (under the pseudonym Tara Anand). A passionate dancer, she trained in Indian classical dance and now enjoys a variety of dance forms, from Bollywood dancing to Ceilidh. She grew up on the south-eastern coast of India and has called the south-eastern coast of Scotland home for over 15 years. She currently lives in Edinburgh with her husband and two children.

An engineer by qualification, she fell into project management professionally before pursuing her passion for storytelling. Winning the Joffe Books Prize in 2024 made her dream come true and set her path to publication. When she is not grappling with Excel in her day job, she loves to read and dream up stories of her own.

A lover of all things colourful and festive, she loves to blend Indo-British culture into her writing.
