Ross M. McGill, also known as @TeacherToolkit, is the founder of one of the most popular education websites in the world, supporting teachers globally. Over 20 million people have read his website! In 2025, Ross was invited by the Cabinet Office to Number 10 Downing Street in recognition of his education content and social media expertise; in April, he met with the Secretary of State for Education, and again in July to meet with the Prime Minister. In 2015, he was nominated for The Sunday Times '500 Most Influential People in Britain' and remains the only classroom teacher to feature to this day. As the most followed educator on social media in the U.K., Ross also offers unique social media insights and support for schools and organisations. Ross has worked across education for 35 years and is an award-winning teacher, author and blogger, with school leadership experience in some of the most challenging schools in London. He is frequently asked to speak at national conferences and has worked with teachers all over the world, regularly writing and reflecting on educational developments in various publications about education policy. Today, when not managing TT, Ross is also a primary and secondary school governor, a PGCE tutor and visiting tutor at the University of Buckingham. In August 2018 after 32 years of silence, he recently spoke out about male sexual abuse to encourage more men to speak out and raise the profile of safeguarding in schools.
