Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert L. Maginnis is a nationally recognized national security analyst, author, and media commentator. A graduate of the United States Military Academy, he also completed studies at the Naval Postgraduate School, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, the Defense Language Institute, and the United States Army War College Strategic Studies Program. He is an Airborne-Ranger infantry officer who served in four infantry divisions on three continents during a distinguished military career. In 1993, Lieutenant Colonel Maginnis served with the Pentagon team that developed the military policy later known as “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” Following his retirement from active duty, he joined Family Research Council, where he eventually served as Vice President for Policy. He continues to serve as the organization’s Senior Fellow for National Security. In 2002, Colonel Maginnis returned to the Pentagon as a defense contractor supporting national security and security cooperation programs. For nearly two decades he supervised teams of national security professionals supporting the Headquarters, Department of the Army, while also instructing courses associated with the United States Army War College. Since 2020, he has continued supporting Army security assistance and national defense initiatives as a senior contractor and consultant. Colonel Maginnis is a frequent contributor to national media as a columnist, military analyst, and commentator. He has appeared regularly on Fox News, Salem Radio Network, American Family Radio, and numerous other television and radio programs discussing national security, foreign affairs, culture, and emerging technologies. He is the author of more than a thousand articles and fourteen books, including Preparing for World War III, AI for Mankind’s Future, and The New AI Cold War. His recent work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, geopolitics, national security, faith, and the future of human freedom.
